So what is the difference between the link provided here (the direct link to purchase the product, which I believe is a pdf file) and the Gamefound one? If I pledge through Gamefound, do I immediately get the same file as the one on the Land of the Blind website? Or if I purchase off the website, will I get the final product still? Thanks!

ok so I have so many question about this system I dont know here to ask but I will ask here 1.why gamefound and not kickstarter 2. why you change the monk from Pugilist and the cleric for Luminary 3. who can I heal? there is a spell that can heal?

I love Vaesen . I run it much more as quirky folklore than horror based in London but I've sent them to Sweeden and Indonesia because why not. I love bringing in real and fictional characters from Ida Lovelace and Elisabeth Barrett Browning to Aleister Crowley who is currently working to unleash The Great God Pan on the world ...

I'm running Silver of the Sea at my local game store for a group of people who have never played Vaesen and they're having a blast (except for the one guy who's actively trying to ruin it). Everybody is absolutely luxuriating in their characters and the mystery is taking way longer than it should because they all want to roleplay to within an inch of their lives.

I doubt it needs to be said, but if you’re looking for more adventures to read, Mothership is currently the place to be. In particular I recommend Gradient Descent…that book genuinely spooked me out a bit while I was reading it.

Not many of my friends play much Væsen or say Dragonbane, even our new Norwegian Dragon Breath. D&D is the culprit, I admit playing dnd now when we FINALLY got a group together. Until they/ we get bored of dnd. I play Free League and Spillforlaget ttrpgs SOLO. Which is just a great! No shame, think of solo trpgs as analogue/ physical versions of doing fantasy crpgs like Baldurs Gate 3 solo😉 Gotta check out your Vagabond, Solo is a BIG selling point for me

Everytime I see someone reviewing, talking about or running Vaesen I get all giddy as I get to see the folktales of my home (Sweden) be highlighted, I especially love one of the mysteries in the book a wicked secret, the one that takes place in a small village called Mölle, the place really exists and is located a 15 minute drive from where I was born, keep up the overall great work man!

I loved Seasons of Mystery! I read it, and it's on my shelf, but I haven't had a chance to run Vaesen yet.

Great minds. I also have a modular casting system for my ttrpg that's been 5 years in development. Though there are definitely differences between our systems.

Not gonna buy these books. Wizards is actively moving against their player base and their history. Both are a mistake. Best part about TTRPGs, I own books already, I don't need your new stuff I can play as much 1st, 2nd, 3.5 4th, or 5th edition games I want. Why would I support a company that treats me like I'm somehow a hateful person because I enjoyed the hobby 30 years ago. Why would I support a company that sabotages people that are creating videos where they express their love for this hobby? Maybe if they hadn't decided to go on a crusade against the older fans and tried to project their gatekeeping of the hobby onto us, I would have bought the books, but not when Wizards and Hasbro are being so blatantly disrespectful and anti-consumer. Remember that when you support them through these actions, they view it as consent.

On assuming all players have to be familiar with 5e: It was a different time, but I was taught what a ttrpg was in 2001 and the person teaching me ran me through a scenario where I played myself during an armed robbery at a grocery store using 2 d6's. The first actual game I played was Big Eyes, Small Mouth and then a one shot of Vampire and it wasn't until after those that I was introduced to D&D 3e. My girlfriend's 1st ttrpg was Pathfinder 1e which she played for years before someone brought 5e books to the table. On Sundays, I play in a Warhammer Fantasy 4e game and this is the first ttrpg for 3 of my fellow players in that game. So yeah, I get 5e is huge, but I agree it's a mistake to assume everyone is familiar with it or its the only game bringing new players in. You wouldn't write a fantasy novel assuming your reader has already read Lord of the Rings and so you can just shorthand what elves and dwarves are like.

I have no concept of their motivations beyond the things wotc has like, publicly said in videos or conveyed through some of the playtest questions, but I think they’re less concerned with healing and how it impacts lethality and more concerned with like, whether or not it feels good to cast cure wounds. That is purely opinion and conjecture, but that’s the vibe I get.

One thing that felt weird while looking at the book was how all the full page art for the classes look like AI art they look artificial

I've been watching your videos about this game, and I'm still a little uncertain about some elements. Firstly, if all rolls are player facing and difficulty is listed on the player's sheet, does the DM have any control over that? In many RPGs the idea behind sliding difficulty is so that you can represent harder challenges. Climb the mountain? Easy. Climb a sheer cliff? In the rain? Raise the difficulty. Does the game at least have like an advantage/disadvantage system for when things get harder than static DC? Also, you mention with some amount of pride in one of your designer videos about the game that it doesn't (?) include rules for social stuff, because people should just roll play that. Is this correct, or did I misunderstand? No rules for handling social situations or "persuade" type checks? This is an argument I've heard in some other games too, and it always irks me. You're saying I as a regular person can make a character far more fit and strong than myself and play a jacked barbarian, or make a character far more wise than myself who knows multiple languages and has unlocked the secrets of magic, but a shy, socially awkward individual can't make a character with a silver tongue and social confidence, because they should just do that themselves. I don't see how that makes sense personally. Again, maybe I misunderstood.

So 5e 2014 is freaking busted, 5e 2024 is even worse. Solution, burn your shiny new 2024 5e book and go play a game that actually functions and is actually designed by competent game designers.

I’m conflicted they put parts that should be base class monk in the grappler feat. I’m happy it’s here, just feeling priced into feats to feel like my class is whole feels weird

I feel like advancing intrigue randomly can be a good idea when things stall out, but I would much rather have my players exercise a lot more control in an intrigue game.

As someone looking forward to vagabond (especially after... “the incidents of that we shall not name of those we shall not name”), I’m surprise not to see merchant not on here...though then again that’s gonna need adjustment/remodeling to this system; if it dose get put in I can’t wait to see what form it would take☺️

Ik this video is 2 years old but hoping, at least someone, can answer a question I have on the Formulae part:- Basically, at 11:53 it's said that it takes 2 hours to learn the formula of an item but then says it doubles with the Common rarity and double again for each rarity after. But I'm confused because isn't Common the lowest rarity? So wouldn't every item take a minimum of 4 hours, not 2?

Basically, this video made me ignore the other tier lists he has. It wont help me one bit when he cant even be bothered to read a subclass

Honestly this vid just made me not see him as a reliable voice of class Homebrew.
